Alastair Fear has lived in Abingdon with his wife Judith for 25 years.
Their children attended Caldecott and Larkmead schools. He works as a
systems analyst on NHS computer systems.
He has been a Town Councillor in Caldecott for eight years, and in the
last year served as Deputy Mayor, and Chairman of the Amenities and
Recreation committee which made large improvements to the town's play
areas and cemeteries. He has also been involved in planning for the
transfer of the Guildhall to Abingdon Town Council, and is committed
to its future success as a centre for the community. If re-elected as
a local councillor he looks forward to continue representing Caldecott
residents on all manner of subjects.
In his spare time Alastair enjoys taking photographs and writing the
Abingdon Blog (abingdonblog.co.uk) - a light hearted look at events
and places in Abingdon. He is a member of Trinity Church, serves as a
governor at Thameside School, works as a committee member at Preston
Road Community Centre, and is Chairman of Abingdon Town Amateur Boxing
Club - where he is involved with fundraising to try to build a new gym
in South Abingdon.
