Oxford City Council has 48 councillors in 24 two councillor wards. There are 18 Labour, 17 Liberal Democrat, 8 Green, 4 Independent Working Class Association (IWCA) and 1 Independent councillor. The Liberal Democrats are currently running the council in a minority administration.
City wide elections are held every 2 years and one councillor from each ward is elected. The next elections are in 2008.
