2010 By-elections

Abingdon Northcourt

Helen Pighill held the Northcourt Ward of Abingdon Town Council for the Liberal Democrats on 16th September. The by-election was caused by the death of Pat Hobby.

The full results are:

Lib Dem (Helen Pighills) 494 (55.3%)

Conservative 294 (32.9%)

Labour 105 (11.8%)

Swing 3.1% Conservative to Lib Dem. Turnout 24%.

Kidlington North

Alaric Rose held the Kidlington North ward for the Lib Dems in the Cherwell District Council by-election on 22nd July. The by-election was caused by the death of John Wyse.

The full results are:

Lib Dem (Alaric Rose) 526

Conservative 419

Labour 216

UKIP 86

Turnout was 29.6%.

Abingdon Dunmore

Julia Bricknell held the Abingdon Dunmore ward of Abingdon Town Council for the Liberal Democrats at the by-election on 24th June. The by-election was caused by the death of Audrey Tamplin.

2009 By-elections

Abingdon Dunmore

Julia Bricknell held Abingdon Dunmore for the Lib Dems in the Vale of White Horse District Council by-election on 22nd October. The by-election was caused by the resignation of Lib Dem Councillor Tim Smith when he moved, for work reasons, to Australia.

June 2009 Elections

There were elections for Oxfordshire County Council, the South East European Parliament elections and a by-election for Cherwell District Council in Kidlington North on 4th June.

Kidlington North

There was a by-election for the Cherwell District Council seat in Kidlington North on 4th June, following the resignation of Lib Dem Chris Pack.

The Liberal Democrats held the seat.

May 2008 elections

There were elections in Oxford City and in Kidlington in May 2008. There was also a County Council by-election in Kidlington & Yarnton, caused by the resignation of a Conservative Councillor.
