Bridge Street, Abingdon

Commenting on the decision at the County Council's Transport Decisions meeting to change traffic flows on Bridge Street, Abingdon, local County Councillor, Lesley Legge, expressed her disappointment that it had taken 18 months to review the trial of the traffic lights over the bridge when residents had been promised a review after six months.

She said, "I am pleased that the changes now agreed have taken into account residents' parking, which has long been one of my concerns in the town centre.

"I have also said that a dedicated loading bay on Bridge Street for those shops which have no back entrance is vital to reduce the impact of the loading and unloading restrictions, and I hope this is being taken forward."
