Lib Dems Support Independent Review of Abingdon's transport scheme

12.00.00am GMT Tue 12th Feb 2008

Local councillors are united in wanting AbITS (Abingdon Integrated Transport Scheme) reviewed independently, as urged by petitioners at the County Council meeting on 12th February. Lib Dem County Councillor, Lesley Legge, said "SCOOT needs better data collection and intelligent reactions; this was planned but not delivered to date.

"Abingdon has lived in this unpredictable state for far too long with gridlock on occasions for no reason, and we need it sorted. We have great shops and a beautiful town; we all need to do everything we can to get it back on track."
